This guarantee states we will restore losses to your account that occur as a result of unauthorized transactions through no fault of your own. How do I qualify for this protection? Your Empower accounts are automatically eligible for this protection. You do not need to register for this protection. Please follow the online and mobile security practices below and more fully described in our Security Tips . Online and mobile account security is a shared responsibility. Let’s work together to protect your account. What can I do to help protect my Empower account(s)? 1. Register your account, then keep your contact information current. As soon as you are able, log in to your Empower account online to ensure we have registered you as the authentic account owner. In addition to your contact information, add emails and your mobile number, if available, to help ensure we can contact you with proactive security alerts or in case of suspected unauthorized activity. Remember to keep your contact information, email addresses and mobile numbers up to date. 2. Protect your personal and financial information. Never share your passwords, personal account information or device authentication with anyone, including your family members or friends. Anyone with whom you share (or direct us to share) your account access is deemed authorized by you to conduct transactions on your account, including third party financial planning and budgeting applications that aggregate your data via sharing credentials (except one that we have partnered with). 3. Review your accounts and respond to security alerts and notify us of suspected fraud or identity theft. Monitor your account activity, such as transactions, address changes and bank information regularly. Security alerts are used to validate account activity with you such as a withdrawal of funds, changes to your contact information or adding a new bank account. In addition, you must promptly review your Empower account information, including transaction confirmations and statements and notify Empower immediately of any unauthorized account activity, if you have not received an account statement or if you have experienced any kind of identity theft. Consider electronic delivery of statements and documents to make reviewing your account easier. 4. Increase login protection and keep device updates current. Use a unique and strong password on your Empower account. Reset your password immediately if you think it was compromised. Keep your devices, operating systems, web browsers and applications current.
